HED Bulbs

An excellent choice for roadside lighting solutions, an HED lighting system is perfectly suited to a mains power supply or better still in conjunction with one of our photovoltaic systems.

  • Light-emitting plasma discharge.
  • Illumination intensity per watt greater than less efficient sodium lamps.
  • Wide thermal colour range.
  • Excellent colour property.
  • Very short warm up time – 80% within 4 seconds.

HED bulbs produce light from excited plasma atoms, the photons of which produce a light-emitting plasma discharge. Special ballasts designed for these bulbs utilise AC220V, DC12V or DC24V power supplies to trigger start up and optimum performance within very short timescales.

Highly efficient

Our HED bulbs have illumination intensity equivalent to high-pressure sodium lamps with far grater power requirements e.g. a 150W HED bulb equivalent to a 400W sodium lamp. The light produced by these bulbs is also very intense; 4,800 lumens can be attained from a 50W HED unit.

Excellent Colour Properties

A colour-rendering index (CRI) > 78 will ensure the correct presentation of original colours guaranteeing extreme accuracy within the work place and the thermal temperature of the light can be adjusted in the range of 3000K – 6000K; at 5600K the thermal colour temperature is very close to sunlight and it is easily accepted with naked eye.
